"Resignation (to the Divine will) and praise be (to God)""Decorated in luster over opacified white glaze. The inscritiopn on the front reads: "Blessing to its owner" and on the base "Blessing to its owner" and "...Abu Shaddad," probably the signature of the decorator."

Ivory ground. Iranian king and attendants. Cufic inscription on rim, Exterior inscription in Naskhi letters. 11th-12th century. Arabic inscriptions. Good wishes to the owner. Inside-Kufic: "Power, salvation, justice, triumph, prosperity, glory, wealth, happiness, generosity." Outside- Naskhi: "Induring glory, growing prosperity, triumphant victory, steady happiness, generosity." The Iranian king is seated between red columns of his throne attended by three seated courtiers- a guarding sphinx appears below, with an ibis bird. Rim is bordered by a white Kufic inscription on blue ground. Exterior inscription is black on opalescent grayish buff glazed ground. Rare example.Glazed
