Bronze balance or weight from a steelyard arm. Form of a hollow female bust, probably a Tyche, with triple headdress. Large loop on back of head.
Condition: Good. Base of base very slightly chipped.
Bronze figure of a running leopard or panther. Legs, outstretched, head turned sharply to the left. Probably a handle from a bronze vessel but as figure is incomplete this is not certain.
Condition: Poor. Only the left front leg complete, others badly broken. Entire surface heavily corroded. Portions of face lost. Body probably badly pitted. Cast solid.
Bronze head of a bird, probably an eagle. Feathers indicated by incisions. Eyes incised and surrounded by a white substance. Detail from a larger composition.
Condition: Fair. Metal in good condition with dark green patina. Diseased spot at base of neck. Base of neck open.
Hollow cast bronze statue of heavy-set nude standing Aphrodite. She stands with her weight on her right leg. Her left leg is slightly bent at the knee and the foot is drawn back though not raised. Her legs separate below the knees. Her arms are outstretched and bent at the elbows. The right arm is slightly higher than the left. Each hand apparently once clenched an object or attribute. She wears a necklace worked in bold relief with seven pendants evenly spread around the strand close to her thick neck. Necklace strand at rear of neck undecorated but with slight V-shaped dip. Her hair is parted and worn up yet covers ears and forms little bun about nape of neck. One corkscrew curl falls on each sloping shoulder. She wears bulbous earrings. Her head is turns slightly to her left but the right earring is considerably lower placed than the left. She wears a large openworked flaring “Syrian” crown which is mostly missing. The face is modestly idealizing. The eyes were inlaid with glass (?). The right eye is missing its inlay. The left with black pupil is preserved.
Condition: Completely covered with green incrustation. The feet broken off but preserved. Some bits from the legs above the ankles missing. Badly attacked by bronze disease. Part of headdress missing. Left eye perfectly preserved. The right eye has lost its iris and restored. Attributes from her hands, if she had them, are missing.
Incense shovel. Rectangular; on 4 short feet. Down the length of the shovel in the middle of its underside is a narrow raised band. Short vertical sides rising to a narrow horizontal rim which bears incised line decoration. At the two closed corners are two ear-like attachments. Long handle, end of which is in the form of an animal's hoof; at its junction with the shovel, the handle divides into five points; between the hoof and these points the handle is semicircular in section and across it are several raised bands.
Small bronze figure of a composite deity. The deity has the body and head of a lion (the god is seated), human arms, and there is a snake coiled about the body and arms.
Condition: Black/brown patina. Surface much rubbed. Ears partially chipped away.
